How FreelanceDesk collects, uses, and protects your information.
Overview
FreelanceDesk is a Chrome extension and website that helps freelancers create professional documents including invoices, proposals, contracts, NDAs, and quotes. This privacy policy covers both the website (freelancedesk.online) and the FreelanceDesk Chrome extension. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data.
What We Collect on the Website
- No analytics or tracking: We do not currently use any analytics or tracking on the website. No page views, user behavior, or personal data is collected.
- No account creation: The website does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information.
What the Chrome Extension Stores
All data created within the Chrome extension is stored locally in IndexedDB on your device. None of this data ever leaves your browser. This includes:
- Client information (names, emails, addresses)
- Documents you create (invoices, proposals, contracts, NDAs, quotes)
- Brand kit settings (logo, colors, fonts)
- Custom templates
- Application settings and preferences
Your documents, client data, and business information never leave your device. We have no access to any of this data.
License Validation
The Chrome extension validates your license key through our secure server, which communicates with Polar (our payment provider) approximately every 7 days to confirm your license is active. Only the license key and a device identifier are transmitted during this process. No document content, client data, or other personal information is sent. All communication occurs over HTTPS.
Cookies and Tracking
- Website: We do not use cookies for tracking purposes. The website may use essential cookies required for basic site functionality.
- Chrome extension: The extension uses no cookies, no tracking, and no analytics. It operates entirely offline after installation.
- No advertising: We do not use any third-party advertising or tracking scripts on either the website or the extension.

Data Retention

You have the right to access, correct, and delete your data:
- Extension data: You have full control. Delete any data directly within the app, or uninstall the extension to remove all stored data.

Children's Privacy
FreelanceDesk is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at therailabs@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete it.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Your continued use of FreelanceDesk after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
